Two beers brewing co

It’s simple math. Our Trailwork Sponsors at Two Beers Brewing Co. and Seattle Cider Co. have made sure beverages are waiting for you when you finish up a work party—now they’re here for the actual party. With a variety of excellent beverages to please any palate, Two Beers and Seattle Cider will be stocking us up for the evening’s festivities. And your first beer is on us with the purchase of your ticket (if you’re 21+, junior)—after that beer is available for purchase to help fund trails.

Donations for the auction are still rolling in as we speak; if you’re a business, bike shop, or manufacturer interested in donating, it’s not too late—contact Bryan today.

Vitus First Tracks Race Division 2016

Vitus First Tracks Race Division 2016

Like any good family, their main goals are to stick together, help one another grow and welcome new family members with open arms. With some forward thinking and support from the right people, anything is possible and we love raising the bar just to see how far we can go. Over the past few years, the Vitus First Tracks Race Division has been growing from strength to strength and 2016 is set to be an absolute ripper!

Vitus First Tracks Race Division 2016
With a solid lineup of riders with backgrounds in enduro, downhill and endurance events, all the boxes will get ticked. James MacFerran aka JMAC, Alistair Baron, Catherine O’Brien, Glyn O’Brien will be joined by none other than the Lizard (Nathan McComb) for 2016.

Vitus First Tracks Race Division 2016
Alistair Baron putting his Sommet through its paces!
We have been blessed with the continued support from Vitus bikes and after running the bikes at full pace in 2015 with practically zero hic-cups, the team are super confident riding the Sommet for Enduro and Dominer for downhill in 2016. ”With a few minor personal set up changes, the bikes are good to go straight out of the box – riders can feel competitive at a local level or equally lined up beside the big dogs at any international event. With the carbon version of the Sommet coming in the Spring, it will be like taking a stealth bomber on a flap lap!” – Glyn O’Brien.

Acti-Snack, a locally based company in Northern Ireland that produces healthy snacks, will be fuelling the team on their quest to victory. Anyone that has raced at a round of the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup knows the slimline pack sneaks into your pocket easily for fast nutrition out on the trails.

The team at Think Studio have been dialling in all the graphics and keeping the team looking slick on and off the trails. Check these guys out if you are looking to sharpen things up at the business end! Out on the trails, the team will be looking sh*t hot, decked out in the latest Royal Racing, 100% and 7idp products.

This is what the crew had to say….

bigquotes We’re delighted to support the FirstTracks MTB Team again this season. 2015 saw the start of a great partnership between Vitus Bikes and the FirstTracks Race Division – with multiple podiums across the Irish DH Series, Vitus and Vitus FirstTracks Enduro Cup. I’m excited to see the team utilise our new Dominer and carbon Sommet models in 2016 and remain on the hunt for plenty more wins!Simon Cordner – Vitus bikes brand manager.

bigquotes Well here we go again, the 2016 season is nearly here and I am pumped to be on the Vitus First Tracks Race Division for another year. The craic and buzz at the races is unreal with the team setup and the boss being the legend ‘OB’ himself. There is never a dull moment. After wrapping up the 2015 season with the IDMS ELITE title and a good Fox Hunt race, I’m eager to get back into it and get stuck into training for 2016. Roll on March.James MacFerran aka JMAC – Enduro & Downhill rider.

bigquotes Absolutely delighted with the way 2015 ended up, with some decent race results under my belt and plenty of friends and memories made, it’ll surely be one to remember. I was absolutely over the moon to take the win in the junior series title of the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup, not what I was expecting at all coming into my first full year of racing, so couldn’t be more delighted. None of it could have been done without the endless lifts to and from races and all the support from Glyn, Cato and Jmac. Really excited to have my good friend Nathan McComb riding alongside me this year and eager to see what he can deliver on the national and international scale. Thanks so much to Glyn and Catherine for the opportunity to race for the team in 2016, bring it on!Alistair Baron – Enduro & Downhill rider.

bigquotes It’s great to be part of such a solid team! Can’t wait to get riding the new Sommet and get a full winter of training behind me. The European rounds of the Enduro World Series are my main focus for 2016 and I want to prove I can hang with the big hitters. I will be racing enduro and having a laugh at every opportunity.. Watch this space! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ian at Rock and Ride and Brian Steele for their support over the last year.Nathan McComb aka the Lizard – Enduro rider.

bigquotes The team get on so well on and off the trails. If you surround yourself with the right people anything can be achieved. Having Nathan on the team is a fantastic asset. He gets on so well with everyone it just felt natural for him to officially join the family! His talent and enthusiasm will help drive the team faster than ever before. I’m stoked for 2016 and what the team can do.Glyn O’Brien – Team manager and mountain biker.

bigquotes 2015 was a huge learning curve for the inaugural year of the Vitus First Tracks Race Division. I thoroughly enjoyed working and riding alongside the boys, providing much-needed support and organisation along the way – as well as taking part in several endurance style events myself. I’m already looking forward to the 2016 season which will see us travel together across Ireland and beyond, shredding trails and sharing many cups of scruff and laughter as we go!Cato O’Brien – Assistant team manager, chef and mountain biker.

The team will be busy shredding trails and racing the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup, Vitus Gravity Enduro Series, Irish Downhill MTB Series, European Enduro World Series, 10 under the Ben and just about anything we can pack in…

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and their support for the season – Without these guys, it simply would not be possible:

Scott Expands Mountain Bike Teams for 2016

Scott Expands Mountain Bike Teams for 2016

Photo Ian Collins
Scott Sports is pleased to formally welcome Amanda Cordell, Sonya Looney, and Stan Jorgensen to our roster of sponsored athletes. Amanda and Stan have been on Scott bikes for several years as part of the Freehub Media enduro team, and Scott is happy to keep them on Genius trail bike and Gambler downhill frames in 2016. Despite being new to the Scott Spark and Genius frames, Sonya is already on her way to Chile for the Trans Andes Challenge stage race. Finally, Todd Wells will ride Scott bikes as part of the SRAM/Troy Lee Designs racing team.

Sonya Looney
“I’m excited to be riding Scott bikes as I race ultra-endurance events and enduros around the world,” said Sonya. With over a decade of mountain bike racing experience, she’s become a specialist in epic multi-day races all over the globe. Sonya is the current 24-hour world champion, and she counts 24 career wins as a professional rider. She’s got a full schedule of adventure and enduro events in 2016 that will keep her away from her adopted Canadian hometown of Kelowna, BC.

Amanda Cordell is no stranger to Scott bikes. She’s well established on her Gambler downhill bike as a second-year professional on the ProGRT circuit, after winning the Cat 1 national championship in 2013. Additionally, Amanda has a great fan base, with over 160,000 cumulative video views on the most popular MTB media sites. “My plan is to be stronger than ever in 2016, mentally and physically,” says Amanda. After finishing 4th in the 2015 Scott Enduro Cup series, she’s training even more with an eye toward climbing the podium at both downhill and enduro events.

Teal Stetson-Lee and Stan Jorgensen campaigned on Scott bikes in 2015 and return in 2016. Teal won the 2015 Scott Enduro Cup series and Stan was 5th. Teal is currently making travel plans to compete in the first few rounds of the EWS series in South America, and Stan will focus on California and the Pacific Northwest.

todd Wells
Todd Wells joins the SRAM/Troy Lee Designs Race Team in 2016 and will ride Scott bikes.

“The SRAM/TLD program is very unique, in that the athletes get to choose the bike they want to ride,” said Todd, in an interview with SRAM. “When I talked to SRAM about joining the program, there was only one bike I wanted to ride: Scott.”

Todd will compete in a range of events including U.S. Cup/PROXCT, Marathon, XC, Epic Rides events, Leadville, Breck Epic and some Cyclocross in the fall.

The Scott-3Rox team returns for 2016 with Geoff Kabush, Derek Zandstra, Cameron Jette, and Erin Huck.

“Once again I’m truly grateful to have such incredible bikes, equipment, and the support from Scott sports,” said Geoff.

“It’s great to see the new and returning athletes and can’t wait to see everyone at the races!”

With the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on the horizon, and with multiple selection candidates on the team, Scott-3Rox will be more focused than ever at national and World Cup cross country events.

On the freeride side, riders, Paul Basagoitia, KC Deane, and Kyle Jameson return to trails around the world. Kyle has made a name for himself on the Fest Series circuit. “For the 2016 season I want to ride smooth and consistent, riding in all of the Fest Series stops as well as work on the bigger picture for FEST,” said Kyle. “I also want to coach the young rippers in Whistler, work on filming some personal web or video edits, and finish off the year with Rampage.”

New Signings Strengthen Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team

Ibis Cycles is thrilled to announce the addition of riders Robin Wallner, Pedro Burns and Dillon Santos to the Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team. They will be joining forces with team veterans Anita and Caro Gehrig, and Gary Forrest. Mary Moncorgé moves from racer into the team manager position.

2015 saw Robin Wallner make his Enduro World Series debut. Coming from World Cup downhill he racked up three top 20 finishes in the final races of the season, including an impressive 14th in Whistler. With full factory support from Ibis, he has sights firmly set on cracking the top ten this year.

bigquotes I am grateful for the opportunity to ride for Ibis in 2016. When I was first approached by Mary I sort of felt right away that this could really be what I need if I want to try and contest the EWS-series. After meeting and talking to Tom and the crew at Ibis I really feel like it’s a great family I have come into and I am very impressed with how dedicated everyone is to the team. I have been riding the HD3 for a while already and I am stoked with how well it handles everything from rough downhills, cornering and jumps as well as pedaling. I am looking forward to a very fun summer with the team and to being a part of this great family – Robin Wallner

The Gehrig twins wrapped up the 2015 season respectively with a 6th and 11th overall in the Enduro World Series. With the women’s field blown wide open this year, they are on a mission to finish in the top five this year.

Gary Forrest will be attacking 2016 with a vengeance. After a horrific crash at round three in 2015 left him with broken vertebrae, his road to recovery has been a long one. Coming into 2016 he is 100% fit and hungrier than ever to show the world how fast he is.

Pedro Burns is a Junior phenom from Chile who conquered the Chilean Elite National title against a stacked field. With the first two rounds in South America this year Pedro will have the home crowd behind him as he starts his hunt for the under 21 world title.

Dillon is a California U21 shredder. He has been at the forefront of the California Enduro Series result sheets, battling America’s fastest racers. Dillon will focus on the California Enduro Series again, as well as the Big Mountain Enduro Series, and select rounds of the Enduro World Series.

Shimano Headlines TweedLove 2016 with Biggest Ever UK Enduro Prizes

Shimano Headlines TweedLove 2016 with Biggest Ever UK Enduro Prizes

TweedLove International Enduro 2016
TweedLove Bike Festival, the annual two week mountain bike and cycling celebration set in the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, has confirmed a major sponsorship deal for both the festival and its new international enduro event for 2016.

Shimano, the world’s leading bike components brand, is announced as the headline sponsor of the TweedLove International Enduro (21 – 22 May), which takes over from previous years’ EWS event, as well as sponsoring the entire TweedLove Bike Festival 2016 (14 – 30 May).

In big news for athletes, the event will be awarding the biggest-ever cash prizes for a UK enduro race. Top riders at the Shimano TweedLove International race will pick up double the amount awarded at last year’s Enduro World Series race. The cash prizes are higher than those on offer at any other UK enduro event, where first prize for men and women will be £1250 (1700 euros).

TweedLove International Enduro 2016
bigquotes We’ve loved having the world’s top riders come to TweedLove and we’re keen to invite them all back again. We have amazing trails and a fantastic atmosphere here, which we know from running the EWS races that the riders and fans really enjoy, so we’re excited to be going forward with our own International level race.

There are established classic enduro events all over the world, which attract top teams and riders every year and that’s what we want to build here. We hope the Shimano TweedLove International will grow to join the hot list of enduro events – it’s going to be a great ride for everyone and a very good day at the office for the winners picking up the cash.TweedLove co-founder Neil Dalgleish.

Organisers promise the same quality of course and organisation, with a big town centre expo and pro team riders, but now with bigger prizes and the backing of an industry giant.

Shimano TweedLove International is part of the TweedLove Triple Crown Enduro Series which also includes Endura Whyte Vallelujah (26 – 27 March) and Whyte Endura Scottish Open Champs (August 20 – 21).

bigquotes We believe the Tweed Valley is the best enduro venue in the UK and we’re proud to host three of the UK’s biggest enduro races here in 2016. The Triple Crown is going to be a cracking mini-series of top quality shredding.Neil Dalgleish.
TweedLove International Enduro 2016
Other big sponsorship news is that Madison Clothing is now onboard with TweedLove as the festival’s clothing sponsor – look out for some newly designed, bespoke Madison TweedLove race shirts which will be on sale at the event.

TweedLove started six years ago, when a group of friends got together to put on some low key races to showcase the amazing trails in the local area and has grown to biggest the biggest celebration of bike riding in the UK. The festival encompasses around 40 events over two weeks, including road and mtb races, family rides, kids races, film nights, photo exhibitions and of course the legendary TweedLove afterparty.

TweedLove International Enduro 2016
Shimano will be bringing professional servicing to TweedLove International and many other TweedLove events, making the whole experience even better for the riders at both MTB and road events – look out for the Shimano service cars and crew. Riders shouldn’t be surprised if they find their wheel change is a bit faster than normal if they puncture on this year’s Skinny Tweed sportive.

bigquotes We are really proud to have Shimano on board, and with their help TweedLove can deliver even more of what it’s always been about – riding bikes and good times.Neil Dalgleish.
