RACE REPORT: USABMX SILVER DOLLAR NATIONAL

Here we go again! The GT Factory BMX Race Team makes their way to Reno Nevada every January for the USABMX season opener. The event is one of the most anticipated as it is where teams and riders get to show on their new uniforms, sponsors and their newly earned numbers they had spent the previous year working so hard for. Also the event serves as the launch pad for newly turned pro racers who are looking to make their names known as a force to be reckoned with in the future. One name that everyone has been waiting to turn pro is Felicia Stancil.

Flyin’ Felicia took on the best female racers in the world and the rookie proved that she is the future of professional BMX racing by winning more laps that any racer all weekend. The finals didn’t go as planed but she did walk away with the Holeshot Award both days and earned a podium spot with a 3rd overall on Sunday. Mostelite level racers would be pleased with such results but not Felicia as she has lofty goals set for herself. The 2016 Olympic hopeful is cranking up here training program and is planning to dominate the next pro race in Florida in March.

Another standout performance of the weekend came from Jordan Miranda. The up-and-coming future pro was battling a flu bug coming into the race but charged on with his 2014 GT Carbon Pro Series Pro XXL to take a 2nd and a 3rd in the ultra tough 19-27 Expert division.
